In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren. Head over to her blog for more information.
I only purchased one book this week. . . . And it's my first eBook purchase! This is kind of a big thing for me because I don't have an eReader, so I only read eBooks when I get them as review copies or when the library only has the title I want as an eBook. But, it was on sale for $1.99 and sounded awesome, so I couldn't resist buying it.
The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
The wars that followed The Collapse nearly destroyed civilization. Now, twenty years later, the world is faced with a choice—rebuild what was or make something new. Stephen Quinn, a quiet and dutiful fifteen-year-old scavenger, travels Post-Collapse America with his Dad and stern ex-Marine Grandfather. They travel light. They keep to themselves. Nothing ever changes. But when his Grandfather passes suddenly and Stephen and his Dad decide to risk it all to save the lives of two strangers, Stephen's life is turned upside down. With his father terribly injured, Stephen is left alone to make his own choices for the first time. Stephen’s choices lead him to Settler's Landing, a lost slice of the Pre-Collapse world where he encounters a seemingly benign world of barbecues, baseball games and days spent in a one-room schoolhouse. Distrustful of such tranquility, Stephen quickly falls in with Jenny Tan, the beautiful town outcast. As his relationship with Jenny grows it brings him into violent conflict with the leaders of Settler's Landing who are determined to remake the world they grew up in, no matter what the cost.
That's the only book I bought this week. I did, however, buy some The Hunger Games gear for the midnight release. The following images are from the Hot Topic website.
Because of my purchases at Hot Topic, I got a free mini-movie HG poster.
The last thing I got is actually something my best friend bought me that I forgot to mentioned in my IMM last week. The next image is from Tough Nerd Toys.
She bought a pack of keychains and gave one to me. I have the one on the left (with the people).
Now, I just need a mockingjay pin or necklace, and I'll be happy!
As for The Hunger Games midnight release. . . . IT. WAS. AWESOME. I'll be blogging about it soon.
What did y'all get this week? Did anyone else go to HG midnight release? Did everyone love the movie as much as I did?
